BeefBank - Feeding the Community

BeefBank is a Charity that’s main aim is to provide fresh meat to the Foodbank organisations for distribution to community and welfare organisation (at no cost) to enable them to provide fresh meals to the homeless and marginalised members of our community. In the past 3 years BeefBank has supplied over 500,000 meals across the region from Gympie in Central QLD to Balina in Northern NSW.

BeefBank is entirely run by volunteers which gives it a 100% Charity status ie 100% of funds received go into the process of providing these meals. For more information please see the beefbank website at http://www.beefbank.org or like their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Rotarybeef/

Foodbank

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, providing over 63 million meals a year to over 2400 charities and 1000 schools around the country.

Foodbank is a non-denominational, non-profit organisation which acts as a pantry to the charities and community groups who feed the hungry. It was first established in 1992 in NSW and now has a presence in every state and the Northern Territory with distribution centres in all state capitals as well as a number of regional centres. We operate with a staff of approximately 100 employees and over 3,000 volunteers.

The Rotary Fun Run has been supporting Foodbank via its Beef Bank donations for many years and we are now stepping up our support to include a monetary donation direct to Foodbank so they can continue their amazing service.
